Poughkeepsie Farm Project

On our member-supported farm, in the City of Poughkeepsie, we grow fresh vegetables & fruit for our CSA, train future farmers, provide hands-on educational programs, and work to improve access to healthy locally-grown food. We provide weekly shares of fresh produce, herbs, and flowers to over 600 members. Our educational programs offer farming, gardening, and cooking experiences to youth, educators, and community members. We donate thousands of pounds of food to local emergency food providers and offer sponsored CSA shares to our neighbors. Poughkeepsie Farm Project began in 1999 as a small community farm with a commitment to education and food justice. The first season, 15 CSA shareholders enjoyed produce from 3 acres of reawakened farmland leased from Vassar College. Nineteen years later we have expanded to 15 cultivated acres, are leaders in cutting edge practices in sustainable agriculture, and grow year-round though the use of state-of-the-art greenhouses.
