Rock Steady is a queer owned and operated cooperative vegetable farm, rooted in social justice, food access and farmer training.

OUR WHY

  • We believe everyone has the right to high quality produce; food access and social justice inform our business model.

  • We celebrate our identities, and make safer spaces for LGBTQAI+ and BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) farmers to thrive.

  • We feel the urgency of our climate crisis, and strive to steward our land with regenerative agriculture practices.

ABOUT OUR CSA

Our 500-member CSA serves our local upstate neighbors as well as our NYC community. We offer weekly vegetable shares, plus egg, fruit, cheese, meat and yogurt options from neighboring farms. Sliding scale pricing, fundraising and community partnerships ensure our food reaches people across all income levels and lived experiences.

We also work with restaurant owners and grocers!

Quotes from Members:

"Rock Steady Farm has the best CSA we've ever participated in. No question."

"Going to Rocksteady to pick up one's share on an early Saturday morning is a very special experience. The site is just beautiful, people greet you with warm smiles -- in fact, everyone there, young and old, seems to be having a terrific time; and what you take home fills your week with wonderful meals. "

"Joining your CSA allowed our family to be exposed to fresh grown vegetables and really opened the doors for my littles and my husband (who is a self-professed veggie disliker). It allowed me to try out new recipes and styles of cooking! We loved it!"

"Rock Steady Farm continues to be the best CSA we have belonged to. Consistently great produce, friendly faces, and lots of fun!"

"The quality, beauty, and variety of the produce are outstanding and some of the reasons we members love the CSA. The friendly and flexible staff make pick up a pleasure. The opportunity for some choice among the vegetables available enables members to focus on getting what they like to eat. And u-pick of herbs and vegetables is good for the soul! Belonging to the CSA will change how you eat for the better. "

Pricing

We offer sliding scale pricing on our vegetable shares. During the sign up process, you'll be able to select the payment level that best aligns with your income and background. We also offer flexible payment plans.

In addition to our regular sliding scale, Solidarity Shares are provided through our Food Access Fund, which distributes partially and fully subsidized produce to eligible folks who cannot otherwise afford to participate.

We have limited shares available through the Hudson Valley CSA Coalition's "CSA is a SNAP" program, offering shares at a 50% discount paid weekly with your EBT card.
