Solid Ground Farm

Solid Ground Farm is a diversified small farm, growing a variety of delicious vegetables using all organic practices, as well as raising pastured chickens. We focus on promoting long-term soil health through reduced tillage and other regenerative practices. The farm is located in the beautiful Hurley Flats, on the west side of Kingston.

Our CSA uses a free-choice point system so that farm members can choose exactly what's in their harvest each week. We have pick-up locations on-farm (on the outskirts of Kingston, near Stone Ridge), as well as in Uptown Kingston, Saugerties, and Catskill. We also have optional add-on shares, including eggs, fruit, mushrooms, flowers, and maple syrup. Members also have first priority on purchasing fresh chicken.

Through the "CSA is a SNAP" pilot program of the Hudson Valley CSA Coalition, we have discounted shares available for SNAP customers.  Pay each week using your EBT card instead of paying at the beginning of the season, and receive a discounted cost as well!  Please email us for more information.

Our CSA season runs approximately 22 weeks, from the beginning of June into November.  We offer a make-up week at the end of the season, so you don't have to worry about missing out if you skip a week during the summer.

As for COVID-safety, we do all off-farm pick-ups as a pre-packed share (where you choose what items you want and we custom-bag it), so pick-up is a quick grab-your-bag-and-go model.  On-farm members have the option to pick up pre-bagged shares or to select their own items in-person, with appropriate precautions in place.  Please ask us if you have any particular questions!

We use a sliding scale system to make sure our produce is accessible to the entire community.  Farm members can select either a seven-point share for $475-$550 or a nine-point share for $575-$650. We know that some folks are willing and able to contribute a little more to help keep those prices down, so feel free to choose the base level, or to add a little more!  We can also accept weekly EBT payments, or are happy to work out payment plans for those who prefer it.

Each week we'll have a selection of what's available in season, and members choose either seven or nine items. An item could be a large bunch of kale, a few pounds of tomatoes, or two melons, for example.

We will also have optional add-on shares, if you want to add a weekly pick-up of eggs, mushrooms, fruit, maple syrup, and more. Details on optional extras is on website.
