The Berry Patch

We are a first generation family farm that focuses on producing the highest quality, pesticide-free berries, vegetables, and cut flowers possible. We started our farm from scratch and now produce year round. We conduct cutting edge research on our farm and are the first farm nationwide that has been able to grow blueberries and raspberries free of infestation from larvae of Spotted Wing Fruit Fly, since the introduction of this invasive species, without the use of pesticides - neither organically approved pesticides, nor non-organic pesticides. We use biological control in our greenhouses, employing 5 different species of beneficial insects so that we don't have to use pesticides (again, neither organically approved pesticides nor non-organic pesticides) in our greenhouses.

Our CSA is "free choice" and products can be obtained at both The Berry Patch farm store in Stephentown and at our booth at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market, every Saturday 52 weeks a year. We offer premium quality produce and other local farm products. Everything we offer at our farm store is from within 50 miles of our farm and our CSA can be used for everything we sell.

Season

We have a flexible system so that you decide how often you use your farm share card. If you don't use it all in one year, it carries over to the next year. You can use it at both our farm store and our booth at the Troy Farmers Market, year round.

We also have a Winter Greens CSA that offers freshly harvested greens from mid-February through the end of May. A minimum of 6 pick-ups can be chosen and are available every other Wednesday, starting February 14th 2018. A small winter share is $120 for 6 pickups, a large winter share is $180 for 6 pickups. You can sign up for up to 8 pickups. Pick ups for the Winter Greens Farm Share are at The Berry Patch in Stephentown.

Pricing

The Minimum Share for the Free Choice Farm Share starts at $300. You can add $100 increments above that.

The minimum share for the Winter Greens Farm Share is $120 for 6 pickups of the small share.  The maximum is $240 for 8 pickups of the large share.

Our CSA is Free Choice any time that our Farm Store is open so we do not have a set pick up time. Come when the store is open, get what you want, and we deduct the total from your Farm Share card!  The store opens in mid-June when strawberries are ripe.  Check our web site and Facebook page for current information.

The summer market is on River Street, the winter market is in the Atrium, between 3rd and 4th street, beside the Uncle Sam Parking Garage.  You can use your Free Choice Farm Share at every market that we attend - summer or winter.
